What is Starfishr for an artist?

Starfishr gives you a profile, an agenda and one place where your booking requests come in. You keep your own availability, you answer requests yourself and you decide who you work with. Nobody books you without your consent.

Your profile is your shop window on the platform, with your artist name, your photo, your types, your city and your bio. Your agenda holds your bookings and the days you block, and it can be linked to your own iCloud or Google calendar so your gigs show up where you already look. Around that sits your network: connections with other artists and with organisations, the bands or collectives you are part of, and the option to pass a request on to someone else when a date does not work for you.

What does it cost?

The artist portal is free. Your profile, your agenda, your network, passing requests on to a colleague, negotiating a fee and linking your own calendar are all in the free tier.

There is no trial that quietly runs out and no feature that stops working once you get busy. Pro adds the tools you need when you start orchestrating other people's work rather than performing your own, such as a full CRM, margins and advanced group structures. As long as you are performing, exploring or just starting out, free stays enough.

How do organisers find me?

You get a shareable public profile page you can put in your bio or on social media. Booking organisations also find you straight from their own tool, where they search by name, by type or by city.

You decide how you can be booked. The default is that organisers can reach you directly and that the groups you belong to can put you forward for their own requests. You can also choose to be reachable through your groups only, which hides you from the public directory, or exclusively through one agency, which routes everything through them. Everyone on Starfishr gets the same place in the search results. Position and matching are never for sale, so a complete profile with a good photo is what makes the difference.

How do booking requests reach me?

An organiser sends you a request with the date, the fee and a briefing. You get a notification and find it under Leads, where you accept, decline or make a counter offer. Bookings you confirmed live under Bookings.

Everything you agree on stays in one conversation, so you can ask a question or adjust the amount until you both agree. A request only becomes a real booking once you accepted it and the end client signed the quote. While you are still negotiating, a request does not block your calendar, so you are free to talk to several organisers about the same date and to take another booking in the meantime.

Who can see when I am free?

You do, and only you. Four visibility levels decide who can see whether you are free or busy, and the default is private, which means nobody sees it at all, not even your own collective or agency.

Two things are worth knowing. First, visibility is only ever about free or busy, never about what you are doing. The details of a booking are visible only to you and to the organisation that made that booking, on every level. Second, private does not make you double bookable. Whenever a real overlap comes up, your availability is still checked at the moment of booking, with a neutral message that gives nothing away. If you want your collective or agency to be able to plan you in, you can share free or busy with the organisations you are linked to and nothing more.
